Fundraising Events 2009
Our major annual fund raising events are our Sponsored Ride which takes place every year on Good Friday and our autumn Sponsored Walk.
This year, for the first time, three of our own younger ponies, Badger, Perdigau and Rafferty, entered for the 11 mile Sponsored Ride over Blackheath, Farley Heath and Winterfold, and they were ridden by Cranleigh RDA volunteers. They all successfully completed the ride and we raised £1,000 in sponsorship money on them alone thanks to the support of many of our friends and local schools and businesses. This year in total the ride brought us in excess of £5,000 with over 100 riders taking part coming from a wide area around Cranleigh.
The Sponsored Walk took place on a rather damp Sunday in October. The walk leaves from our home, Casi’s Farm. This is an opportunity for a family outing to support us and you can pick your route to suit as there is a choice of one mile, five mile and ten mile routes so all ages can be accommodated. This year we raised £500 from this event and we would love to have more walkers next year: dogs are of course welcome!
Major Project for 2010
This year, due to subsidence, we must carry out a major refurbishment of our Outdoor Arena. We hope to take the opportunity to upgrade it with a better surface, an outdoor mounting block and spectator seating.
