Fundraising Events 2010
Sponsored Ride
Our major annual fund raising Sponsored Ride was held on Good Friday 2 April 2010. We had 90 entrants this year and raised a total of around £3,500, which was excellent for a year when Easter was early, the weather dreadful and we even wondered if we should be doing it at all. This year we had an added complication due to closure of part of the usual route by the County Council which was very unhelpful but thanks to the kind intervention of local land holders we were able to re-route along other paths – and it made a pleasant change!
Three riders from our own stable, Casi’s Farm, were amongst those who took part: Sarah Matthews on Badger, Conor Howard on Rafferty, both these two on RDA ponies and Maria Collyer on her own pony Robbie. They committed time and energy to getting the ponies fit and ready before hand as well as riding on the day. And they earned well over £1,000 of the total raised through sponsorship money. Our thanks to the many friends and local schools and businesses who so kindly sponsored them.
We are most grateful to the many people who give their time generously to make this day possible. Lots of them are already our volunteers, notably Angie Hargreaves who was the overall Event Organiser and did a magnificent job. This year additionally, thanks to Adam Jackson, one of our regular vets, who volunteered to be ‘vet in attendance’ on the day and along with everyone else survived the long wet hours in good humour!

Cranleigh RDA is organising an adventurous trek to Morocco on 31 August to 5 September 2010 to raise money for the group and invite other charities to join in. Full details...
The County Club Charity Golf Day in aid of Cranleigh RDA
Members of the Guildford County Club are to hold a Charity Golf Day on Tuesday October 5th 2010 at West Hill Golf Club, Brookwood, Surrey, in aid of Cranleigh RDA. A superb raffle has been organised in conjunction with the Golf Day with some terrific prizes on offer, notably a one week holiday for two (half board) at a 5 star hotel in Mauritius, including return flights, kindly donated by Beachcomber Tours of Guildford. Major Project for 2010
This year, due to subsidence, we must carry out a major refurbishment of our Outdoor Arena. We hope to take the opportunity to upgrade it with a better surface, an outdoor mounting block and spectator seating.
